Playworld Systems

This earlier version of the Playworld Systems website was my first full Drupal build for the company, laying the groundwork for their future product-driven platform. The goal at the time was to create a flexible site that could showcase their playground equipment, support a wide range of content needs, and give the client full control over updates.

Full Back-End Architecture & Content Modeling

I designed and built all back-end structures in Drupal, including product types, categories, photo galleries, case studies, and resource materials. Views played a major role in powering product listings and content displays, so I built numerous custom views with filtering, sorting, and reusable displays that supported multiple sections of the site.

Front-End Theming & Page Construction

The front end required a strong visual layout that highlighted product imagery and Playworld’s energetic branding. I handled all theming work, from template development to styling, ensuring responsive behavior (for the devices of that era) and consistent presentation across product pages, landing sections, and “What’s New” content.

A Foundation for Future Expansion

While this build did not yet include the automated product-database integration from the later site, it established the underlying structure Playworld needed as their digital catalog grew. The CMS was intentionally designed for flexibility, allowing Playworld’s internal team to add products, create new sections, and adapt the site as their offerings expanded.

This early build helped set the stage for the more advanced platform I created for Playworld several years later.
