Cleveland Federal Reserve (FedCommunities)
For the Cleveland Federal Reserve (FedCommunities), I was brought in to take an existing set of advanced WordPress features—queried listings, faceted search, custom displays, and Gutenberg blocks—and turn them into a fully standalone, reusable plugin.
My primary focus was to extract this functionality from its original context and rebuild it within a clean plugin architecture. This involved reorganizing the codebase, ensuring compatibility with standard WordPress conventions, and making the entire system portable across any WordPress installation.
Although the querying and block logic already existed, converting it into a dedicated plugin required careful refactoring and restructuring. The final result allowed the client to drop powerful faceted-listing tools and configurable Gutenberg blocks into any WordPress environment without relying on the original site.
This project highlights my ability to transform existing functionality into a maintainable, scalable plugin that supports long-term use and easy deployment.
