For Evapco, a global leader in evaporative cooling and industrial HVAC systems, I delivered a full Drupal build encompassing both the front-end experience and the back-end architecture. This project required designing a robust, enterprise-level content system capable of supporting a large product catalog, complex technical documentation, and a global user base.

Advanced Product Catalog & Multi-Layer Search Tools

A major portion of the build centered on developing multiple product-finding tools, tailored to different types of users:

  • Product Browser with dynamic filtering
  • Quick Drawing Finder allowing users to locate technical CAD files by
    • product line
    • model number
    • certification type
  • Integration of conditional logic to ensure users could quickly and accurately find the files or documentation relevant to their specific equipment

These tools required custom data structures, Views integrations, dynamic form behaviors, and a carefully organized taxonomy to ensure precision and ease of maintenance.

Back-End Architecture for a Large Industrial Catalog

On the back end, I implemented:

  • Custom content types for products, drawings, documentation, videos, and regional resources
  • A scalable taxonomy framework to manage hundreds of product variations
  • Administrative tools for staff to upload spec sheets, CAD files, and technical papers
  • Workflow improvements allowing non-technical staff to manage product data easily
  • Flexible page building tools for company/industry content, sustainability initiatives, and news

Front-End Development for a Technical User Audience

The front-end work focused on clarity, usability, and speed for a professional audience such as engineers, installers, and field reps. Features included:

  • Clean, responsive layouts
  • A structured information hierarchy for heavy technical content
  • Enhanced media sections for instructional and promotional videos
  • A representative locator tool, improving user access to regional support

A Comprehensive, Enterprise-Grade Web Platform

This build gave Evapco a modern, stable platform that streamlined the delivery of technical assets, product data, and engineering resources to users worldwide. The system has remained a long-lasting foundation for the organization’s digital operations.
